Pinot Noir — La barrique

Moselle Luxembourgeoise AOP

Pinot Noir

La barrique

In the glass

Our Pinot Noir comes from old vines, likely on sélection massale, on the Hoelt parcel — among the oldest Pinot stocks in Luxembourg. The oak barrels that raise it come, according to the previous owner Aloyse Puraye, from a renowned Burgundy producer. A Luxembourg red as it should be: no heaviness, fresh and fruity. Cherry and raspberry on the nose, a hint of pepper, but above all fine, integrated tannins from the lightly toasted oak. Medium-bodied, with a long warm finish. With mild game, artisan charcuterie, or a well-aged cheese. A wine that belongs at any table.

The terroir

The Pinot Noir vines occupy a well-aired parcel on the Hoelt that holds the day's warmth deep into the night. The grapes ripen gently, full of aroma, without sharp acidity. Cover-cropping and organic practice protect the microbial life of the soil around the roots.
